Legal Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Legal Manager serves as a key strategic leader, overseeing all functions of the company’s Legal Department. This role ensures the delivery of expert legal support across business units, manages litigation and dispute resolution, strengthens corporate integrity through effective risk management and compliance programs, and provides strategic legal advice to senior leadership. Additionally, the Legal Manager acts as Secretary to the Risk Management Committee, aligning legal and compliance frameworks to safeguard the company’s interests.
Core Responsibilities
1. Litigation and Dispute Resolution
- Represent the company in all legal proceedings, including court cases and consumer protection matters.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies for diverse legal disputes.
- Coordinate with government agencies and regulatory bodies to secure legal approvals and maintain compliance.
2. Contract and Documentation Management
- Supervise the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts and agreements.
- Implement and maintain robust legal documentation systems and controls.
- Ensure all legal documents comply with regulatory requirements and support business objectives.
3. Risk Management and Compliance
- Serve as Secretary to the Risk Management Committee and lead risk mitigation initiatives.
- Monitor adherence to the company’s global code of conduct and corporate policies.
- Design and implement effective compliance frameworks and monitoring mechanisms.
4. Legal Advisory and Leadership
- Provide strategic legal counsel to senior executives and board members.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs to strengthen organizational compliance.
- Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments impacting company operations and strategy.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from an accredited Thai university.
- Master’s degree (LL.M) and/or Thai Bar certification (เนติบัณฑิต) strongly preferred.
- Must hold a valid lawyer license.
Experience
- 8–10 years of progressive legal experience, including roles in law firms and corporate legal departments, ideally within a multinational organization.
- Proven expertise in:
- Litigation and dispute resolution, including drafting pleadings and representing companies in court.
- Handling consumer protection cases in Bangkok and provincial jurisdictions.
- Developing and managing corporate compliance and risk management frameworks.
