POSITION: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – Apparel/Footwear
BUSINESS: Apparel/Garment/Footwear Manufacturing
LOCATION: Bangkok
SALARY: 70,000 – 100,000 THB
This role involves overseeing all aspects of apparel product development, from concept to commercialization. The Product Development Manager leads a cross-cultural team, ensures adherence to development timelines, and acts as a key liaison across various departments to achieve smooth product development, costing, and customer satisfaction while meeting corporate target margins. The position also includes managing the product portfolio, pricing structures, and ensuring timely and effective new product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage product development operations, including leading and coaching a cross-cultural team.
Implement and ensure team adherence to development calendars and timelines, fostering understanding of the process across departments.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between Development, Material Sourcing, Production, Customer Service, Sales, and Distribution for effective product development and customer satisfaction.
Drive for corporate target margins across applicable categories while delivering customer and consumer value.
Lead product management efforts including product development, portfolio management, pricing structure, and staff oversight.
Ensure new products are launched in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with the Material Department for material and component selection for projects.
Work with factories to achieve proper fit, function, and aesthetics for each product.
Negotiate development and finished product costs with the team and factories.
Provide senior-level project and process management within Footwear Product Development.
Facilitate decision-making for on-time product confirmation and sample delivery by reviewing project status with the Product Creation team.
Conduct research and develop advanced concept projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with experience in apparel industries being a significant advantage.
Strong command of both written and oral English.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, and initiative.
Possess strong leadership qualities, be proactive, self-confident, with proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently with a strong focus on results.
Good computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office and MS Outlook.
Extensive computer and technical skills.
