Position: Optics Expert Assistant Manager
Salary: 60,000 – 70,000 THB/Month
Location: Bangpoo, Samut Prakan
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the optics design team across multiple projects, ensuring technical accuracy, milestone compliance, and delivery quality.
Serve as the main customer interface for all optics-related topics—attending design
reviews, handling inquiries, and aligning technical specifications and expectations.
Define and oversee optical system architecture, simulation strategy, and validation
planning in response to customer and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and supervise optics engineers; assign tasks, conduct reviews, and support
professional development.
Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical, thermal, electronics) to
ensure fully integrated product performance.
Lead optical simulations and validation activities using Lucid Shape, SPEOS, ZEMAX,
or other tools, ensuring correlation with testing.
Review and approve key technical documents, including simulation reports,
DFMEAs, test plans, and optical performance assessments.
Lead technical meetings internally and with OEMs or Tier-1 customers to resolve
issues and align on product design direction.
Drive continuous innovation, identify patent opportunities, and implement new
simulation/design technologies.
Establish and improve team workflows, design guidelines, simulation templates, and
knowledge-sharing practices.
Monitor and allocate team workload, resolve conflicts, and report progress to R&D
leadership.
Support customer audits, milestone reviews, and manage responses to customer change requests or issue escalations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Optics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
- 7–10+ years of experience in automotive optics design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or customer-facing role.
- Strong knowledge of optical design principles, lens systems, light guides, and regulatory standards (e.g., ECE, SAE, FMVSS).
- Advanced proficiency in optical simulation tools (LucidShape, SPEOS, ZEMAX, etc.) and 3D CAD (CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE, NX, or SolidWorks).
- Proven experience in direct communication with OEMs or Tier-1 customers as a technical representative or project lead.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing constraints, especially injection molding and optical material behavior.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Thai or additional languages is a plus.
