Responsible for all BOI related matters, including compliance with BOI regulation and relationship management, as well as all matters related to ECC and IBC which derive from BOI matters.
The BOI Manager will report to the Finance and Supply Chain Director – Asia Offices, who reports to the
General Manager Area Asia Offices.
 
1. Strategy/Communication
- Be the first point of contact within the company for the BOI related matters with a strong relationship with the relevant people of the BOI (and EEC and IBC if applicable)
- Coordinate/communicate and represent the company in dealing with competent government agencies, Customs Department, BOI, Department of Foreign Trade, Department of Export Promotion and Department of Trade Negotiations, to obtain license, permits or any approval for company operations.
- Develop strategies and plans in order to gain and build relationships with key governmental officials, in order to get further privileges and/or apply for new projects with specific privileges.
2. BOI/ECC/IBC application and registration
- Implement and maintain the privileges and licenses which are available with BOI such as privileges of import duty exemption on material and machinery, privileges of corporate income tax relating to BOI.
- Ensure that BOI applications are timely submitted and completed.
- Keep up to date with latest BOI regulation to ensure where possible any new projects are submitted for BOI approval to enjoy relevant privileges.
3. Compliance
- Advise relevant internal departments on customs technical data, tariff classification and applicable duty & tax rate of vehicles and vehicle components, based on applicable customs &trade regimes – ensure compliance with the regulation.
- Ensure to conduct periodic reviews of customs clearance procedures and related documentation
and customs broker management
- Review customs-related activities and documents to identify and highlight the compliance level
under local customs law and regulations
- Review and streamline the customs process & desk procedures and guidelines for customs operation team
4. Internal Control and Reporting
- Ensure regular BOI reporting is done for all BOI projects at company level
- Ensure monthly summary reporting to internal management / finance department
- Ensure that all detailed reporting by various departments within the company is properly and timely executed to avoid issues with tax authorities.
- Ensure adequate procedures and (project) controls are in place to ensure that all reporting for the purpose of BOI/ECC/IBC is done in line with the requirements as set by the relevant authorities.
 
Qualification:
- Graduated Bachelor with a relevant Master degree.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in in dealing with BOI and BOI reporting/compliance.
- Experience in communicating/dealing with BOI representatives.
- Experience in an international business environment.
- In-depth knowledge of BOI regulation, application/registration and reporting.
- Excellent knowledge of EXCEL.
- Experience with SAP is an advantage.
- Fluent in Thai and English (both verbally and in writing)
