System Engineer

Job description:

• Responsible for the electrical, PLC and integration design and development of quality products using sound engineering judgement, to meet the communicated company/department goals.
• Be a part of the cross-disciplinary engineering team working together to design automatic CNC machineries. 
• This is to be completed in conjunction with techniques and systems to implement and support engineering functions that achieve innovative ideas and direction, quality workflows and globally applied technical direction, whilst creating a collaborative, cohesive and supportive environment for Design Engineering personnel. 
• Functional safety in machinery. 
• Liaise with Branches, Customers and Operations during the preliminary design stage to accurately determine the customer requirements from a technical perspective. 
• Prepare the Bill of materials and ensure accuracy and that they are up to date. 
• Responsible for the verification of the technical documents produced by the team or other disciplines with respect to electrical aspects. 
• Provide technical support for manufacturing and service engineers. 
• Implement the engineering & technical standards required in the different product lifecycle phases. 
• Prepare detailed time estimation and financial analyses in support of projects. 
• Develop and work to clear specifications based on the business requirements and analysis. 
• Perform design validation through Factory Acceptance Test (FAT's) or Function Test plan as required. 
• Apply the requirements of the European CE Directives/Regulation throughout the product development process. 

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of work experience, if the experience is in Automation or Control instrumentation would be an advantage. 
• Understanding and experience of Machine builds is an advantage. 
• Proven skills in Microsoft Office applications to a medium level particularly MS Excel. 
• Proven skills in AutoCAD/EPlan or similar. 
• Demonstrated experience with various network communication protocols.
• Application of project management principles and processes. 
• Good level of English speaking and writing. 
• Design experience in a control system or special-purpose machine environment. 
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining PLC code. 
• Experience in programming languages such as C, C#, or C++ would be advantageous. 
• Good understanding of European standards and their application to machine tools. 
• Demonstrated analytical competency in decision-making and issue resolution. 
• Demonstrate a practical application of data collection and analysis. 
• Willingness to travel abroad as required.
• Application of electrical drafting technologies & tools. 
• Self-starter, open-minded individual, good communication skills, able to work under pressure.
