Job Type:          Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 hrs.

Roles Summary:

The R&D Manager will be responsible for managing new product development projects from planning through mass production, with full control of quality, 
cost, delivery, timeline, resources, technical risks, and cross-functional coordination to ensure development activities are successfully translated into business results. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage product development and engineering projects to meet project timeline and milestone requirements
• Control development schedules, gate reviews, engineering progress, and resource allocation
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Marketing, QA, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, and overseas teams
• Manage QCD of development projects, including quality, cost, and delivery performance
• Oversee engineering change management processes such as ECN/ECR and development documentation control
• Support target costing, cost planning, ROI evaluation, and project feasibility assessment
• Identify and manage technical risks, schedule risks, and issue escalation
• Drive FMEA, design reviews, problem-solving activities, and corrective actions
• Plan and monitor prototype, validation, testing, and readiness before mass production
• Support smooth transition from development stage to production and ramp-up
• Prepare project status reports, issue lists, recovery plans, and management presentations
• Manage development project portfolio and prioritize projects based on business needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
• At least 8–12 years of experience in R&D, Product Development, Project Management, or Development Management
• Prior managerial or supervisory experience in leading teams and driving development projects
• Experience in automotive OEM / Tier 1 / Tier 2 business is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of APQP, FMEA, Design Review, ECN/ECR, PPAP, change management, or related development systems
• Strong English communication skills for meetings, coordination, and reporting
• Strong project management, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Experience in working with cross-functional and international teams
• Experience in automotive HVAC, compressors, condensers, or related automotive components will be an advantage
• Strong leadership and ownership with the ability to control project execution systematically
• Able to manage development plans, details, and risks effectively
• Capable of driving projects to completion, not only from a technical perspective but also from a business perspective
• Strong problem-solving mindset and sense of urgency
• Good stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills
• Experience in new model launch, localization projects, or mass production ramp-up is preferred
• Experience in reporting to top management or Japanese management is a plus
