The Cost Analyst role supports financial transparency and cost efficiency within an automotive manufacturing operation in the Eastern Seaboard area of Rayong. The position analyses manufacturing costs, maintains costing models, evaluates variances, and provides insights that support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
Responsibilities
Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs associated with automotive manufacturing processes
Develop and maintain standard costing models for products and components
Analyse variances between standard and actual production costs, providing explanations and recommendations for improvement
Collaborate with procurement, production, and engineering teams to optimise costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports covering manufacturing costs and variances
Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and financial targets
Conduct inventory evaluations, reconcile inventory accounts, support internal audits and compliance reviews, and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience as a cost accountant within automotive manufacturing or a related industry
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning systems, particularly SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Detail-oriented and organised approach, with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within manufacturing operations
Good English communication skills
