Responsibility
- Obtain targeted revenues and personal/team sales targets, as well as maximize profitability. Participate in the development of the yearly departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing and business plans, and budget forecasts.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that generate demonstrable incremental occupancy, average rates, volume, food and beverage, and banquet revenues.
- Evaluate current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate initiatives to enhance revenue and market share, and monitor performance to ensure real sales meet or exceed specified revenue plan.
- Plan and execute special events and sales blitzes to market the hotel to prospective customers. Attend local and national trade fairs and significant market events to encourage new business and boost sales and marketing prospects for the hotel.
- Responsible for day-to-day sales operations, plan and allocate tasks, as well as set performance and development objectives for team members. Become a mentor to improve team member performance, and recognise good performance.
- Coach, motivate sales and marketing personnel in order to meet hotel revenue targets. Ensure that employees have the necessary knowledge, market data, tools, and equipment to properly carry out their job obligations.
- Establish and maintain connections with key clients and outside contacts (for example, guests, airlines, wholesalers, travel agencies, advertising agencies, and local community groups) in order to generate group and/or convention business, which includes room sales, food and beverage sales, and catering/banquet services.
- Identify operational issues that are reducing the efficacy of marketing initiatives and overall hotel sales performance, and collaborate with the relevant department to find solutions.
- Work with advertising agencies, consulting companies, and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure that advertisements accurately portray brand identity.
- Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or any related field.
- Experienced in Director of Sales & Marketing in a luxurious hotel.
- At least 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
- Skilled in data analysis, leadership and problem solving.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Strong communication skill in English and Thai.
