The SMT Engineer role is ideal for candidates with experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing who want to support process stability, production efficiency, and product quality in a manufacturing environment. This role will be involved in SMT process control, equipment optimisation, new product introduction (NPI) support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control SMT production processes to ensure compliance with quality and productivity targets.
Set up, optimise, and maintain SMT equipment, including Laser Mark, Printer, Mounter, SPI, AOI, Selective Soldering, and Coating machines.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including machine programme preparation and process validation.
Analyse and troubleshoot equipment, process, and quality-related issues to minimise production downtime.
Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics such as Yield, Pickup Rate, Downtime, and Production Efficiency.
Coordinate preventive maintenance (PM), calibration activities, and spare parts management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and productivity enhancement projects.
Prepare daily and weekly reports and participate in production review meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in SMT Manufacturing, SMT Process Engineering, or Electronics Manufacturing.
Knowledge of SMT production equipment and processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
