The Project Control Senior Engineer/Assistant Manager role oversees project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress monitoring, risk management, and contract administration for offshore, engineering, procurement and construction, and large-scale construction projects. This onsite position also coordinates with project stakeholders, supports evidence-based management reporting, and guides junior engineers in meeting project and industry requirements.
Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
Integrate the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
Apply the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM)
Cost Control:
Prepare and monitor project budgets
Track expenditure, analyse variances, and forecast final costs
Manage commitments, accruals, invoices, and cash flow reporting
Progress Monitoring:
Collect and analyse project performance data
Produce variance and trend reports
Align reported costs with physical progress based on the value of work completed
Risk Management:
Identify project risks and conduct quantitative analysis, including Monte Carlo simulations
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
Lead contingency planning for offshore and construction projects
Contract & Claims Management:
Interpret engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and FIDIC contracts
Manage change orders, claims, and disputes
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and finance teams
Provide evidence-based reports to senior management
Mentoring & Leadership:
Guide junior engineers
Enforce Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
6 to 15 years of experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, or cost control within oil and gas, offshore, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI), or large-scale construction projects
Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, project scheduling, progress monitoring, and project reporting
Knowledge of cost control, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and EPC contract and claims management
Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Able to work from Monday to Saturday
PMP, AACE, OSHA, or offshore HSE certification will be an advantage
