The HR Manager role is a key hospitality leadership position based in Koh Phangan, supporting both pre-opening preparation and ongoing HR operations. This role will lead workforce planning, recruitment, compliance, HR systems, employee engagement, and service culture development for a hotel or resort environment.
Responsibilities
Lead pre-opening HR preparation, including manning plans, recruitment, induction design, HR systems, contracts, benefits, HR budget, and cross-functional coordination
Oversee ongoing HR operations, including recruitment, payroll, compensation reviews, performance management, employee relations, records, and workforce planning
Ensure compliance with Thai labour law, immigration processes, contracts, health and safety standards, and relevant HR procedures
Develop and support training, employee engagement, CSR initiatives, and service culture activities
Manage HR budgets, metrics, reporting, and workforce-related planning to support operational goals
Maintain professional standards, attend meetings, ensure safety procedures are followed, and perform additional duties as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
At least 7 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within hotels or resorts
Experience in luxury hospitality is preferred
Pre-opening experience is advantageous
Strong experience engaging with local authorities and supporting compliance-related processes
Deep knowledge of Thai labour law and immigration processes
Strong communication skills in Thai and English
Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office
Strong leadership, problem-solving, confidentiality, and adaptability
High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and passion for employee wellbeing
