The Electrical Design Engineer role offers the opportunity to support technical proposal development, cost estimation, and preliminary design work for power electrical projects. Based in Sathorn, Bangkok, this role is ideal for candidates with experience in electrical system design or estimation, particularly within HV and MV substation-related projects.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed project cost estimations by coordinating with procurement teams, internal factories, external vendors, and subcontractors
Prepare high-quality technical proposal documents that clearly define the scope of supply and equipment specifications
Review and prepare tender documents
Check and refine electrical equipment specifications to ensure they meet customer requirements and international standards
Develop preliminary Single-line Diagrams (SLD) for system projects, including HV, MV, and LV substations
Draft preliminary substation layout plan drawings, ensuring optimal equipment placement for 115kV GIS Power Transformations (PTR) and 22kV/6.6kV Switchgear (SWGR), while adhering to safety clearances and technical standards
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related field
At least 2 years of experience in electrical system design, estimation, or sales within the power electrical field, with a focus on HV and MV substations
Good command of spoken and written English
Product knowledge of HV GIS, HV/MV Switchgear and Transformer, LV MDB/MCC/VVVF, and protection relays
Skills in AutoCAD for Single-line Diagrams and the ability to understand equipment layout drawings and schematic diagrams
Knowledge of Electrical Design Software (ETAP) and monitoring systems (SCADA/CSCS) would be an advantage
Hold a professional engineering licence and a valid driving licence
Excellent problem-solving and management skills
Fast learner, patient, with a good attitude and able to work under pressure
