The Accounting Manager role, based onsite in Bangkok, leads accounting operations and ensures compliance with Thai accounting and tax regulations. The position manages the full accounting cycle, strengthens financial processes and internal controls, and works closely with local and regional stakeholders while leading a team of 5 accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
Establish and implement accounting processes, policies, and internal controls in compliance with Thai regulations and company requirements
Manage the full accounting cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statutory reports, and consolidation packages
Ensure compliance with Thai Financial Reporting Standards for Non-Publicly Accountable Entities (TFRS for NPAEs), local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), deferred tax, IFRS 16, and transfer pricing requirements
Review and verify accounting transactions across the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, operating expenditure, capital expenditure, construction in progress, and fixed assets
Coordinate closely with headquarters finance on forecasting, foreign exchange contracts, J-SOX compliance, and audit-related matters
Oversee tax compliance, including value-added tax, withholding tax, corporate income tax, PP.30, PP.36, PND.54, and related filings
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government authorities
Ensure monthly financial closing is completed within 3 business days
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5 accounting professionals
Support management with financial analysis and special projects as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
Valid Certified Professional Development (CPD) licence
Minimum 15 years of accounting experience within the trading and/or manufacturing industries
Strong knowledge of:
Thai Accounting Standards and regulations
Thai Financial Reporting Standards for Non-Publicly Accountable Entities (TFRS for NPAEs)
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Deferred tax
IFRS 16
Transfer pricing
Corporate tax and value-added tax regulations
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a business environment
Proven experience leading and managing accounting teams
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP
Experience working with multinational companies and regional headquarters
Exposure to J-SOX compliance and international reporting requirements
Strong leadership and people management skills
