This role reports to the Payments and Switching COE.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
o Provides application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project.
o Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
o Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications.
o Maintains, tests and integrates application components.
o Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
o Ensures system improvements are successfully implemented.
o Demonstrates an understanding of systems and the financial services industry.
o Analyzes requirements and translates business requirements into product designs.
o Writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
o Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems.
o Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.
o Conducts planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks.
o May participate in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations.
o May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.
o Other related duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development).
· Proficiency in business modelling and requirements definition disciplines through Unified Modelling Language (UML), use cases, etc.
· Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors).
· Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources.
· Excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
· Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
· 5-7 years' experience programming knowledge using either C/C++ on Unix/Linux environment or Java on Tomcat/WebSphere.
· Knowledge of RDBMS/SQL such as Oracle, Informix, DB2 or Sybase.
· Knowledge of ATM/POS switching and ISO8583 messaging standards.
· Knowledge of Oracle Tuxedo would be an added advantage.
· Functional knowledge of the Card management application and life cycle management for debit cards, Prepaid cards.
· EMV knowledge, card personalization and key management.
· Knowledge of EFT Switch and transaction processing would be an added advantage.
· Familiar with the Networks Functionality w.r.t Authorization, clearing/settlement, certification, mandates etc.
