The Purchasing Manager - Japanese Speaker role leads purchasing operations for a manufacturing company based in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan. This onsite position plays a key part in strengthening procurement performance, developing supplier relationships, managing the purchasing team, and coordinating with Japanese-speaking management and the company’s headquarters.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect materials in support of production requirements
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives
Negotiate prices, contracts, and commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers to secure the best business conditions
Evaluate, develop, and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance and compliance
Lead and manage the purchasing team, establish departmental key performance indicators (KPI), and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate and communicate with Japanese-speaking management and the company’s headquarters, including preparing reports and conducting business discussions in Japanese
Handle Board of Investment (BOI)-related purchasing activities and ensure compliance with BOI regulations, import and export requirements, and company policies
Analyse purchasing data, market trends, and cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency
Requirements
Good command of written and spoken Japanese, including strong reading and listening skills
At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
At least 5 years of experience in a managerial position
Strong leadership and management skills
Experience with BOI procedures and regulations
Additional information
Monthly salary: THB 60,000 to THB 80,000
