The FB Press Operator role plays a key part in overseeing press operations and maintaining safe, efficient, and consistent production activities. The position combines hands-on machine operation with shop-floor leadership, troubleshooting, quality control, and continuous improvement responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Operate and oversee FB Press machines and daily production activities
Perform machine setup, die changes, parameter adjustments, and production line changeovers
Monitor production output and ensure production targets are achieved
Control product quality and ensure compliance with safety requirements and work standards
Supervise and provide guidance to production operators on the shop floor
Conduct on-the-job training and promote safe working practices
Troubleshoot machine and process-related issues and coordinate corrective actions
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions to avoid recurrence
Lead continuous improvement activities, including 5S, productivity improvement, yield improvement, downtime reduction, and cycle time reduction
Support standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives within the production area
Requirements
Experience in FB Press, Parts Former, cold forging, metal forming, or related manufacturing processes
Hands-on experience in machine setup, die changes, machine adjustments, and troubleshooting
Experience leading production operators and ensuring the achievement of quality, safety, and production targets
Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement activities
