The Engineering Manager/Engineering Assistant Manager role is a technical leadership position supporting wire harness production, process improvement, and shop floor execution. This role will work closely with production teams to translate customer requirements into practical manufacturing instructions, improve efficiency, and maintain strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and technical support to the production team, focusing on wire harness processing
Interpret and translate customer drawings into shop floor instructions, including staff guidance and machine setup
Select, maintain, and manage production jigs and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and preventive maintenance
Conduct process improvement activities, including verification of outsourced design work, troubleshooting defects, and implementing corrective actions
Drive cost and labour efficiency improvements while maintaining strict quality standards
Manage and update documentation related to licence renewals, maintenance schedules, and production records
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production flow and compliance with customer requirements
Requirements
Experience managing around 20 staff in a manufacturing company
Knowledge of wire harnesses, electrical wires, and connectors
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead improvement initiatives
Ability to communicate technical details clearly to production staff
Background in design principles is highly desirable
Hands-on experience in wire harness processing and assembly is preferred
Experience in an electrical or electronics manufacturing company is preferred
